Scope & sourcing
One exact game. No bait-and-switch.
This manual covers Dazed Games’ How to Fish, Steam App 4001890. It excludes real-world fishing, Roblox Fisch, Fish It and unrelated gambling pages that collide with the title in search.
Version-sensitive facts are stamped. Community tactics are identified as such. When the source archive does not verify a key, count or item name, the page says so. This revision covers The Islet Update 1.1.0 (September 28, 2026), the game’s first content update: a bundle with PEAK!, a new weapon, multiple mini islands, more creatures, a new mini-boss, more items, a new bait, a new NPC, new achievements and a new outfit, plus volume adjustments on some sound effects and new spacing between islands. The official post publishes no names, numbers or prices for that content, so this manual leaves them unnamed. It builds on Patch 1.0.12 (September 4, 2026): Steam Cloud saves, a piranha rebalance and slight tuna nerf, a velocity limit on dropped items, MetaVoice 4.3 for voice chat, a FishNet max-FPS override fix, music preload for the first radio purchase, and explosives now damaging the final boss on its tail. This revision adds the two September 29, 2026 patches. Small Bugfixing Patch 1.1.2 (September 29, 2026): rebinding for reload, two new bow skins, the new bait’s spawn on the new mini island raised from 2 to 3, shinier shiny fishing-rod skins, adjusted wishbone upgrade pricing, larger mini island dots on the radar, the option to downgrade to ironsight restored, a fix for Tench not spawning from the new bait, and a fix for the new mini-boss’s triangles facing the wrong direction. Tiny Patch 1.1.3 (September 29, 2026): Fishipedia now shows the name of the bait needed to catch a fish, displayed after you have killed it once, to make hunting drip creatures easier. Neither post publishes further names, numbers or lists. Facts re-checked 2026-10-05.
